Who are we?
Formed in January 2017 at the Royal College of Music, Ensemble Solaire is a fresh collection of young wind players who perform professionally with regular concerts throughout the year. They have performed in prestigious venues, including Cadogan Hall and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Music producer, Stephen Johns (EMI Classics) described their performance of Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles as “exceptional”, and they are looking forward to performing Ligeti’s Ten Pieces in Queen Elizabeth Hall in May. They were the winners of the Elias Fawcett Prize for Outstanding Ensemble in the Final of the 66th Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition (2018), and the Boconnoc Music Award (2017), which led to a residency at Boconnoc Estate involving concerts and educational workshops.
