Ensemble Solaire, a fresh collection of young players formed in 2017 at the Royal College of Music, were the winners of this year’s Boconnoc Music Award as the most promising and talented ensemble. The group received a week’s residency at Boconnoc, a valuable opportunity for the musicians to work and enjoy music in the peace and tranquility of the beautiful surroundings of the estate. During the week they performed two concerts, a recital in Boconnoc House and a concert in Boconnoc Church.

An inspiring event for all music lovers, this was a rare chance to hear performances from some of the most talented and promising young musicians, performing in a truly beautiful setting.

This ensemble is made up of Renate Sokolovska (flute), Polly Bartlett (oboe), Elliot Gresty (clarinet), Matthew Horn (French horn) and Justin Sun (bassoon). They have performed in Cadogan Hall and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and has been working closely with Olivier Stankiewicz; principal oboe of the London Symphony Orchestra.
